Mechanics from Wright's Motor Accident repair group in South Belfast are running in the Belfast Marathon in May in support of Action MS.
So far training schedules have been tightened and a well oiled routine is in
overdrive as spare tyre waistlines are refitted for a slimmer, more athletic
Altogether five running repair men are geared up to raise hundreds of pounds from sponsors to help win the battle to beat multiple sclerosis.
Action MS project manager Ian Waterhouse is delighted with the team's progress so far.
"A sister of one of the team members has multiple sclerosis and this has
given them added incentive to train hard and win as much support as
possible. So we expect a great result and you can be sure it will be a turbo
charged race for the finishing line. In training over these past weeks
everything seems to be finely tuned and the fundraising is beginning to
accelerate, " said Ian
Action MS, the leading multiple sclerosis charity in Northern Ireland, is
appealing for more runners to pick up the Action MS baton and run for a
worthy cause. Said Ian: "The marathon is a great opportunity to show you
care and perhaps the running repair men will lead by example and encourage all sorts of people from various workplaces to get involved and to take steps that will really help. If you have a team in mind get them to the starting line and call Action MS now with details and we will provide
back-up for your fund-raising efforts."
